I hate life conundrums
An acquaintance pointed out to me that if Im going to spend $4k on a diploma learning .NET at NUS's ISS that spans 26 days, I might as well dish out 2k more and do a more rigourous education with the diploma in system analysis spanning 11 months albeit full time.
Now the problem starts if I dont land a consulting job at accenture, then I would have to fall back on my contingency - be a programmer. And that very diploma in SA trains one to be a programmer of your choice in specialization, J2EE/.NET with a 5 months attachment in a MNC allocated to me. The syllabus is very much rigorous in nature and definitely would be beneficial to me because it complements my would-be degree (i have never taken those modules or should I say i skipped them all)
I mean its a no brainer, if I dont land my first choice, I would just move on to second choice. But if I do land in that situation, I will be very very torn between a dip in SA or a cert in C#/.NET simply because of the 11 months opportunity costs lost financially during that period of time but the knowledge gained would be very invaluable.
Ahh. The conundrums of life.
